silicone injections

I had silicone injections forty years ago. I can not find any information on that subject. Don't know what type of silicone it was, or what it really was. I just had several lumps removed with at least 20 more still all over my body. The doctor said he could not find any information on injections. It was done in a large doctors' office and lots of other girls were there. I can't believe that I am the only one haveing trouble. If you know of any books or articles etc. please let me know. It is very upseting not knowing what is going on in my body.

That is the way they did it in the beginning - they injected silicone gel. When they noticed that it migrated to other parts of the body they put it in silicone bags and implanted them. When that leaked out and people became ill and there was a public furor, they substituted saline in silicone bags. Lately there is a move to go back to silicone gel in silicone bags and a denial on the part of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and Corning (the company which makes these things) that silicone can be a problem. There is, or has been a large class action suit against Corning you may want to join if it is not too late. There is a lot of lay public and medical professional opinion that silicone can be a very big problem. I have an article on this site (http://www.medical-library.net/sites/_silicone_implant_disease.html) and you can find a lot of information by using your web browser/search engine.
