I'm 62 and have about a third of the symptoms off and on for candidiasis for about 12 years including muscle weakness/paralysis, balance problems, lethargy and spaceyness. About 12 years ago a blood test showed me at the low end of the high infection risk. I was put on Nystatin but it made me really sick. I have since had aortic valve replacement and a bad case of labyrinthitis. I've also been checked several times for neurological/muscle joint problems but have been told I have none. Do you think your treatment will help me? If so, how much does it cost and can I do it at home? I've tried fasting, walking, jogging and lifting light weights every day but can't seem to shake this thing.

The history you have given me is not sufficiently complete for me to have certainty about any particular overall diagnosis and proper diagnoses must precede treatment for there to be hope of success. It would appear that you would end up with more than one diagnosis. Some of my colleagues wonder why I take over one hour to take a history and it is precisely because the complete story must be intimately known to arrive at accurate diagnoses. The word "candidiasis" is bounced around and means different things to different people. If you are using it to represent what is commonly referred to as "yeast syndrome," then yes, what I have to offer is of great benefit. In that regard, read this article: www.medical-library.net/gut_wall. To treat you I must see you in person. If you wish to make an appointment, call me at 707-591-4088. As to cost, there is no way to estimate that until I have a better knowledge of your condition(s).
