acute pancreatitis

I had a baby by C-section and right after the C-section developed acute pancreatitis. It was discovered at least one day after my operation. They had been giving me morphine after the operation for pain. I did not drink and I did not have gallstones, could the C-section have cause my acute pancreatitis?

I know of no direct association between C-section and pancreatitis. However, if there was inadvertent trauma to the pancreas during the procedure, it is very possible that it could have burst some enzymes from the pancreas into the abdominal cavity. This would have caused an inflammation to the abdominal tissues which would mimic pancreatitis.
