Sugar Addiction

My addiction to sugar is so severe that I eat an entire bag of candy during the morning and a couple candy bars or a few rolls of lifesavers before the end of the day. I crave hard candies. I wake up thinking about candies. I exercise regularly, eat mostly fish and chicken, and love fresh fruits and vegetables. I have no caffeine in my diet except that contained in some of the chocolate I eat and would have a healthy lifestyle if not for this addiction (I do not smoke and rarely if ever drink alcohol). I have tried cutting down and eating only a set amount of candy each day, but as soon as I have one it acts as a trigger and I want more. Its as if I'm addicted to a drug. I have spoken with my doctor and have had glucose tests done (all normal). She also suggested cutting back slowly, which is just not working. I have even tried acupuncture without results. I notice that I am building up a tolerance and eat more and more every week. Any suggestions or help that you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Sugar cravings such as you describe are usually accompanied by overgrowth of yeast and fungus in the gut. Those types of organisms consume primarily sugar as they are anaerobic and apparently they secrete something which induces sugar cravings in the host organism (that's you). If this is the case, only ridding the body of these organisms along with transforming your diet will solve the problem. Unfortunately antibiotics are not a solution, but the German SanPharma and Pekana remedies do work. By the way, if you take one candy and then it is a trigger for more, do not take the first.
