Fibromyalgia

I have been facing a critical situation lying on the bed with this disease for seven years. I am a 25 year old male and I have lost every hope to come out of this disease. I am losing energy every day. I feel severe pain in my feet, sole, heel and a feeling as if it has been torned from the inside. When I tell this to the doctors of India they advise me to visit a psychiatrist. I have been taking yoga therapy since January 14, 2001 and 2 months before it seemed to me that I had overcome this disease. I was running on the road and doing all activities as I if were normal. One day I went for cycling and pressed the paddle with my toes. On that very day my illness returned. My MRI report says that there may be muscle degeneration. I am unable to hold even a glass of water. My feet have swollen. Please help me. Is it autoimmune disease?

There is a lot already written on this web site about fibromyalgia. You can access it by using the Search box above. It is hard to diagnose and I do not know if your diagnosis is secure. It is a severe illness, but usually not as severe as you describe, altough it can be. There are other diagnoses to consider. Intestinal or systemic parasites come to mind; so do the myodystrophic disorders and the lower motor neuron diseases. Perhaps you can get yourself to an infectious disease doctor and a good neurologist with these thoughts in mind. Correctness of diagnosis is critical, obviously, to treating an illness.
