Thanks for having a page on giant cell arteritis. Other than a person having the symptoms described, are there tests to confirm this diagnosis?

There are no specific tests, so the diagnosis is arrived at by symptoms and certain non-specific lab tests, namely:
elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate or C-reactive protein
blood count showing normochromic, normocytic anemia
thrombocytosis
elevated fibrinogen
increase plasma viscosity
abnormal liver function tests
