The purpose of chelation therapy is to bring out metals which you believe to be in excess. Therefore proper testing would be done regarding metals. Chelation does not remove vitamins, although it can provoke B6 deficiency by another mechanism. Between chelation therapy sessions with EDTA there should be mineral replacements using chelated minerals. Usually oral replacement is sufficient, but if not intravenous replacement is sometimes used. All of this should be done only under the supervision of an experienced and well trained chelation therapist. For more information go to: www.medical-library.net/chelation.
