I have what is called perilympth fistula and the doctor thinks I need an operation on my ears to repair it. Any experience with this?

From your doctor's terminology I would suppose there is a direct drainage from a lymph gland to the surface. If this does not close spontaneously, I would not argue with your doctor's advice. Of course, surgery has risks, but so does leaving a draining fistula open.
