protein breaks down into sugar, too, right?

Regarding yeast problems, doesn't protein (and all other food) eventually break down into sugar? So, why would there be any difference between eating carbohydrates/sugars and proteins except for the time taken for the substance to break down into sugar? Does the amount of time needed to break down food into sugar have some noted effect on yeast's ability to take hold in the body? Or is the protein-into-sugar breakdown somehow different than complex carbohydrate sugar? The only difference I see is the amount of time until it gets into the body (carbs going in quicker through the cell walls as sugar). Doesn't all food eventually turn into glucose?

No, all foods do not break down into sugar. Carbohydrates break down into sugar, refined carbs (breads, pasta, etc.) much faster and yes speed of breakdown is important. Complex carbs (veggies) break down slowly and do not feed a yeast/fungus/anaerobic bacteria overgrowth. Protein is digested into its component amino acids. These are either used in the construction of new proteins, excreted, or broken down to simpler molecules. It is possible, in that third instance, that some of that simpler molecular material is used in the construction of simple carbohydrates, but to say protein breaks down into sugar is simply inaccurate.
