Achalasia

Achalasia

Dr. KennedyAchalasia is a rare disease of the esophagus (swallowing tube), usually diagnosed in adults. Abnormal function of nerves and muscles of the esophagus causes difficulty swallowing and sometimes chest pain. Regurgitation of undigested food can occur, also coughing or breathing problems related to entry of food into the lungs. The problem is weakness of the lower portion of the esophagus and failure of the lower esophageal sphincter to open. Treatment involves drugs and surgery and is usually unsuccessful. I have had some success treating it with the SanPharma Protocol, although this is not a cure either. In fact, there is no cure.
