I am 33 weeks pregnant and I have had a few complications over the past month that has put me on bedrest. I was hospitalized for severe back pain that revealed a probable kidney stone. This caused preterm labor and I am fingertip dilated and 60% effaced. I was given magnesium sulfate to stop the contractions. After a week I was sent home on bedrest. I did o.k. for a couple of weeks until the back pain became severe again and I wasn't able to hold anything down. I became dehydrated and I was hospitalized for 4 days. I am now home on I.V. therapy. Could the kidney problem be causing the nausea? If so how would that cause nausea? What else can be the cause at this stage of my pregnancy?

Hyperemesis gravidarum can be caused by poor nutritonal intake and/or poor intestinal absorption. When this is the cause and when it does not respond otherwise, it can be treated with intravenous vitamins and minerals, usually with good success. Of course the cause of the poor nutrition, if this is the problem, should be identified and corrected.

Date: October 30, 1999 11:12 PM this is a product that is a powder that comes with a shaker cup. You shake it up with 8 oz. of juice and down the hatch. You will not find anything like it anywhere. I've tried, I've done the research, I have people with HIV and Hepatitis C on it and I love it myself. NO MORE TAKING PILLS FOR SUPPLEMENTS!! It has a colon cleanser in it as well as probiotics. Look at all the other ingredients.......JB
