Supplements for broken bones

My mom recently had an accident in which she broke the bone in her right leg near the ankle and severly sprained the left foot. She has not one good foot at this time! They did surgery on the right foot/leg and put a plate and screws in it to bring it back together. It had a 4 cm gap and the doctor did not think that it would heal properly, hence the plate and screws. She is currently laid up and is getting around by wheelchair until everything heals up. What supplements would be good for her to take to speed up the healing and to make sure everything heals strong and solid?

Please see the comments in the posting just previous to yours. In your mother's case, it is very important that her bone-building hormones be on board. Natural progesterone (not the synthetic your doctor will automatically prescribe) and human growth hormone. The most important aspect is to remain alkaline. Salivary pH should be measured at least daily using pH paper. Persistent acidity will eventually result in osteoporosis regardless of age or hormone status.

For this to be correctly managed you will need to find a doctor who is up-to-date. Most docs are doing what they were taught in med school 5-40 years ago. That is why we present a list of docs and a research service on this web site.
