rash around eyes

Yesterday morning I woke up with a rash around my eyes. It's mainly from just under my eyebrows down to the part that's hidden when you have your eyes open, but is present just under my eyes. It's not sore or itchy, not raised, and looks like little red freckles around my eyes.

Sounds like an infection of the Meibomian glands. If that is the case an ophthalmologist would recommend that you boil a washcloth, let it cool some, roll it up and apply it to the lids as warm as you can stand it for five minutes twice daily.

I didn't get the message that you'd replied! I wasn't taking anything any different to normal - only asthma medication that I've been on for ages. I can't honestly remember about the makeup, but I'll keep it in mind if it happens again. It has happened again once but I can't remember from then either.

Thanks for the ideas.
