swollen gland under chin

I have had a swollen gland under my chin for about a week. What do you think it could be? I went to the doctor and he said that it was a swollen lymph node but he was not sure what caused it. What would cause that gland to be swollen and if it is anything to worry about?

I can't tell you not to worry about it. I don't know what it is. Common causes of swollen lymph nodes are: infection (of the drainage area or the gland itself) and cancer. Keep an eye on it. Follow your doctor's instructions.
