scalp pain

My daughter (13) has been complaining of scalp sensitivity and pain for 1 month in certain areas of her scalp. No signs of lice, redness, itchiness, lumps or anything. Just "pain" as she describes it. Hurts whether she wears her hair up or down. Thoughts?

This is a good example of why doctors should not practice medicine without seeing the patient. The differential diagnosis of scalp pain ranges from the relatively benign (for example caffeine sensitivity) to the downright catastrophic (such as enchephalitis). By all means, see a doctor post haste.
