Optimal Diet for Hypochlorhydria

My husband has a severe case of hypochlorhydria. His body produces so much endogenous ethanol, that sometimes he becomes extremely impaired to the extent of not being able to walk or talk and passes out. We thought it was yeast overgrowth causing the endogenous ethanol, but the stool analysis came back negative for yeast. He is now on a diet that resticts him from eating anything that may produce yeast. (He only eats organic vegetables-no starchy veggies, nuts, seeds, beans, and a small amount of animal protein.) He is going to be tested for bacterial overgrowth. Is this the same restrictions for controlling bacteria? He really misses fruit and tomatoes. Re: Optimal Diet for Hypochlorhydria

Basically, yes. However, controlling dysbiosis by diet, while it does produce results, is not a permanent fix. As soon as you deviate from the diet, you are back in deep water. The real problem lies in damage which has been done to the immune system located in the gut wall (and 70-80% of the total immune system is located there). The gut associated lymphoid tissue (or "GALT") is there to regulate the organisms in the gut. When it is damaged they grow out of control and produce toxins. Please begin with this article to initiate an understanding which can lead to cure:
