My husband has a severe case of hypochlorhydria. His body produces so much endogenous ethanol, that sometimes he becomes extremely impaired to the extent of not being able to walk or talk and passes out. We thought it was yeast overgrowth causing the endogenous ethanol, but the stool analysis came back negative for yeast. He is now on a diet that resticts him from eating anything that may produce yeast. (He only eats organic vegetables-no starchy veggies, nuts, seeds, beans, and a small amount of animal protein.) He is going to be tested for bacterial overgrowth. Is this the same restrictions for controlling bacteria? He really misses fruit and tomatoes.
