hydrocortisone for adrenal fatigue

I have severe adrenal fatigue (confirmed by saliva test). I tried supplements, including glandulars, but it is not helping. In fact, glandulars made me worse. So I am planning to take hydrocortisone in physiological dose (20mg). That seems to be the recommended dose (according to wilson, teitelbaum, jefferies). Unfortunately, the doctors here (in Denmark) are not familiar with adrenal fatigue. I might convince them to do a ACTH test, but what's the point? Would a normal doctor or even an endo be familiar with physiological dosing, and be able to guide me anyway? Would it be safe for me to go ahead and take the hydrocortisone by myself? I am looking for someone to guide me along the way, for adjusting dose also. How would you recommend I proceed?

That dose of cortisol is surely safe, but whether it will help you or not is another question. Adrenal fatigue is almost always more complex that deficiency of one hormone. The adrenals make many hormones. Dr. Ellen Løkkegaard in Copenhagen is a gynecologist who prescribes bio-identical hormones. She might be the best person to see, or if she does not treat males she could probably tell you who could help you. You need more thorough testing than just cortisol and the formula to help you will almost surely be more complex.
