Oral EDTA does not lower cholesterol. Intravenous EDTA surely does, but understand that the amount of EDTA available by GI absorption is miniscule by comparison. So, you didn't "have" to take oral EDTA in the first place, not for cholesterol lowering. Next point: far too much is made out of cholesterol levels (my opinion) except to sell the public billions of dollars worth of cholesterol lowering drugs. Unless you have familial hypercholesterolemia, with extremely high levels, I am not sure the benefits outweigh the risks of these drugs. The reason to take oral EDTA (and I do) is to help the body rid itself of toxic heavy metals, especially mercury, but also lead and others, so abundant in dental amalgam, and in air, food (especially fish) and water in the industrial age. I will surely take it for life at 500 mg. daily. Nutrition, supplements (especially arginine) and daily exercise for preventil of vascular disease, but that is another long story. If you already have it, intravenous EDTA, but that is also a long story. Not advising you here, simply sharing experience and knowledge.
