diagnosing candida

Am I to understand that there are NO tests that can reliably indicate the presence of candida (yeast) or the toxins they produce? What about a test that will show the presence of the polypeptides you mentioned in your article. My wife displays numerous (more than half) symptoms you mention. She appears to most to be generally healthy other that being overweight with her weight increasing, but there are so many seemingly unrelated symptoms that even she can't remember them all to tell her doctor about. She was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian disease but a recent visit to her endocrinologist appears to indicate that she is not, in fact, polycystic. It all seems very complicated. I want my happy wife back. It's even making ME irritable. Anyway, Just wondering about some test other than the topical symptoms you list.

I almost never use lab tests to diagnose "yeast syndrome." Like Lyme disease, ultimately it is a clinical diagnosis based mostly on history and some on physical exam. Antibody Assay Labs had a test, the "Candida Immune Complexes Assay #323" which they claimed to correlate well with the clinical diagnosis, howevever they have been bought out by Genova Diagnostics and I presume Genova now offers that test.
