Peripheral neuropathy in feet

Do you have any suggestions for helping with the pain (mostly in the evenings) or numbness of diabetic onset neuropathy in my feet? The numbness started around seven years ago before the diabetes was diagnosed just three years ago. The diabetes is under control with diet, exercise and a 1/2 tablet of glipizide (5 mg) per day.

Peripheral neuropathy in diabetes is a circulatory problem which relates to heavy metals which have deposited in and around the intima (the inner lining of blood vessels). This causes constriction of vessels and poor oxygenation of peripheral nerves. This problem is addressed with great success in most cases with IV EDTA chelation therapy. The condition of the blood also matters. This is best evaluated by miscroscopy. If there is "sludging," this also cuts down on oxygenation of peripheral nerves. If this is the case, the cause must be tracked down and reversed. If there is lung disease the oxygen pressure in the blood can be low and this has the same end result. Treatment of the lung problem may then help.
