Excessive iron in blood

An ailing and feeling miserable, senior lady has been doctor diagnosed as having excessive iron in her blood. And yet, her MD offers no treatment but suggests giving blood. But no organization wants it.... nor will remove any blood. Does this interest you? Suggestions?

Blood-letting is the treatment, or at least a treatment for polycythemia vera, and I am guessing this is the diagnosis. Desferroxamine is the chelator of choice to remove iron in polycythemia vera. I am not sure what you mean by "Does this interest? me. If you mean would I treat such a person, of course I would.
