Use of DMSO for foot swelling & discomfort

July 31, 2004 I fell from a scaffold and crushed my heal. 9 pins and a plate were placed to rebuild it. Currently it swells slightly and is quite numb, stiff and uncomfortable. I have been wondering if DMSO applications would help me with these problems. If so how should I apply it. In what form, liquid or gel, and in what frequency? I have used DMSO in the distant past for athletic injuries and have experienced the bad breath. Is there anyway to avoid that. Any advice as for as the type of DMSO to use, where to purchase it and how to apply it would be greatly appreciated.

The key elements here are to use medical grade DMSO) (which you should be able to find and purchase using your search engine) and to apply it in the proper concentration for the area of the body you are treating. Below the waist it is possible to use 100% DMSO. Understand that I am not recommending that you do this or not do this as you are not my patient, but simply reflecting on general principles.
