Hyperthyroidism / hypothyroidism

I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and my sister with hyperthyroidism. We don't know where to start. What is the best thing to take for our condition? We live in Ireland. Is there something we could get on-line? My sister has severe diarrhea? Is this a symptom of hyperthyroidism?

Diarrhea can surely be a symptom of hyperthyroidism. As to treatment, the first thing you need is a doctor. Do not try to treat yourselves. These are not quick to resolve, easy to treat disorders. One must have a doctor who is experienced in treating these conditions as they can be very complicated to manage. Sometimes there are nutritional ways of helping these conditions, but do not rely on those approaches in the absence of medical treatment and supervision. Medical specialist who deal with this are internists, endocrinologist, and even many family and general practitioners have training and experience with these as well.
