Protein Power Diet

I have been on the protein power diet for about 2 weeks now and have recently been experiencing a definite metal taste in my mouth. The only thing introduced to the diet has been the bread you make with soy powder and only have had one piece every couple of days for a "treat". Any ideas on the problem?

First of all, for general health, a well-rounded diet is a better choice than a "Protein Power Diet," whatever that is in your case. We live in a culture which has gone protein crazy and the long term health penalties are coming down the pike, you can bet on it (short term benefits, long term penalties). Next, it is not possible to examine the contents of your "Protein Power Diet" by merely seeing these words. You might be able to glean some information by a close examination the label. Finally, there is a lab test which can determine if you are accumulating metals - the DMPS Challenge Test . I suggest you work with a doctor who practices nutritional medicine and avoid fad diets. The stress on the kidneys of excess protein is considerable when it becomes a lifestyle.
