adrenal fatigue

I believe I may be suffering from severe adrenal fatigue. All of the symptoms seem to fit - low energy, difficulty waking up, energy levels highest in the evening, low sex drive. I am a 54 yo male. This may be complicated by the fact that I have had Crohn's disease since I was 13 years old. I had a colostomy in 1984. I have been on Prednisone treatment since I was 20. A few years later the Prednisone was supplemented with MP6. My maintence level for years was 5 m. of Prednisone, but the last 2 years even higher doses of Prednisone have been ineffective in reducing a flare. The Purinethol dosage has been increased from 50 to 75 mg./day. Two different GI doctors have said that my failure to respond to Prednisone treatment for my Crohn's flare is due to the fact that I am a smoker (about 1 pk/day).
