Low Back Pain

I was rear-ended, while stopped, at 70 mph five years ago. I now have L4, L5 and L5, S1 instability with recurring low back pain and more pain through my left hip into my back thigh. My front right thigh has numbness and pin sensations. I have opted out on all surgery and injections of cortisone. Anti-inflammatories have given me temporary relief, but the pain comes back and the cycle starts over.
My wife and I had full body scans done and I can see that my right sacrum, where the coccyx attaches, is fractured. The missing bone is seen and in another view, the bone fragment is seen floating in space. Either the coccyx or the glutius maximus pulled the bone fragment away. It looks like it pulled away from the anterior, but I am not sure. My questions are: (1) can the bone be re-attached? (2) Can it attach with scar tissue? My back went from very strong, with no symptoms before the accident, to flat and unstable to date. Can prolotherapy help with attachments along my spine? How can I make appointments with you?

That "floating" bone will almost surely require surgery to reattach. Except for that, your situation sounds like that for which prolotherapy was invented, namely stabilization of the spine. You can make an appointment by calling my office. 707-591-4088.
