Sharp pain during Intercourse

About four months ago I started getting very sharp pain during intercourse. The pain only occurred when my boyfriend's penis hit a certain spot on the right side. A few weeks ago this pain became so bad that I am not able to have intercourse any more. The pain is also not just during intercourse any more either. I feel this sharp pain with almost any movement such as walking, bending, twisting, sitting up or when I go to lie down. I also started spotting between periods about the same time I first started getting the pains. I am not sure if these pains are something that I should be cocerned about or not. Is it possible that it is just a minor irritation that will go away?

I would not recommend ignoring the pain. The wise thing to do would be to consult a board certified gynecologist. Endometriosis can cause such symptoms, but so can a number of other conditions. Definitive examination and studies should be performed as soon as possible to stay on the safe side.
