Fruit on an empty stomach

I eat a variety to fresh fruits in the morning on an empty stomach. About 15 minutes after I eat certain fruits, mainly melons, I experience aching pains in my shoulder and upper back areas and around my heart as well as nausea, all of which lasts for about 15-30 minutes. What could this reaction be?

Any specific and consistent reaction to the ingestion of a specific food is called "food sensitivity." An amazing variety of reactions are possible. I keep a box of Granola around in case I ever have insomnia - it knocks me out like a light.
