Can leaky gut syndrome cause adrenal problems? How is leaky gut diagnosed and treated? What specialist do I need to see in order to get it treated?

The cause of hyperadrenalism is unknown. The cause of hypoadrenalism is thought to be long term stress - no direct link to leaky gut syndrome, and simple aging. The cause of leaky gut syndrome is chronic dysbiosis which derives in turn from abuse of the body with no respite (cigarettes, alcohol, coffee, MJ, etc.), and also mercury and long-term use of antibiotics. The tests are Intestinal Permeability (Lactulose/mannitol challenge) by Great Smokies at (800)522- 4762 and Intestinal Barrier Function Test by Doctor's Data at (800)323-2784.
