My doctor has found out that I have hypothyroidism and he would like me to go on a high carb diet. I don't know exactly what knids of foods are high carb foods. I know that most dairy products are not, and meats are high in carbohydrates, but I don't know what else. So please help me to know what foods I need to eat more of?

Carbohydrates are of three varieties: simple (sweet stuff - sugars), complex (vegetables), and refined (breads, pastas, pasteries, etc.). Let's add rice and potatoes which are digested somewhat the same as refined carbs. I suggest you get your doctor to clarify exactly what he or she means. I know of no therapeutic relationship between hypothyroidism and carbohydrate consumption.
