Liver and Weight

Is it true that if the liver is not functioning properly that it is harder to
loose weight? What is a good cleanse for the liver? I have been taking lemon juice, olive oil and cayenne in the morning on an empty stomach.

What you are doing is a gall bladder flush. That has little to do with supporting the liver but is a good way to clear out the biliary system. What you do about a liver problem depends entirely on the diagnosis. Hepatitis, mild toxic overload, liver cancer, bile outflow obstruction, gall bladder infection, etc. are all handled differently. If the liver is not functioning well, you will be feeling ill. If the kidneys become involved trying to compensate for liver disease you may find yourself gaining weight as water (edema). Colon therapy takes a lot of stress off the liver and helps it heal, if it needs to heal. Eliminating the toxic load through the use of psyllium shakes and by consuming only raw organic food helps as does eliminating all industrial and incidental exposure to toxins. This includes tap water. Probiotics help. Digestive enzymes also. Then there is milk weed thistle. Remember that the liver is the Great Detoxifier of the body. Whatever you can do to cut down the toxic load on the liver gives it a rest, relatively speaking. But after saying all that, you must have a proper diagnosis of what is wrong with your liver.
