What is the story on synthetic vitamins?

There is a book written by a doctor saying that vitamins made by synthetic techniques can cause cancer. What is your opinion on this? Since the packaging never mentions about it, how do I know whether the vitamins are made synthetically or not?

There is a lot of propaganda against producing vitamins synthetically, but if you understand the nature of molecular structure you know that nature has no method of distinguishing two structurally identical molecules. The only people who buy expensive "natural" vitamins are those people who never had a course in stereochemistry and those with money to burn. To assert carcinogenicity requires a political agenda. If a doctor wrote that, he or she is in the servitude of the pharmaceutical medicine industry and has been paid to lie.
