Bipolar disorder

Dr. - I have read a lot of the sites in this webpage and all of it is very interesting, except that for a couple of questions regarding depression, there are no recommendations, Drs, etc. for mental illness. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder almost 10 years ago and have done well on the drugs prescribed for me by my psychiatrist, although my family would like me to be drug free. Of course, I have been taking them for so long, I don't notice any side-effects, if there ever were any, but it's a family joke when I line my medications on the shelf.......and looking at the acidity foods, I'm way up there!! I'm lucky, now, still able to work, etc. but I know that the long term effects of this disease can be pretty disabling. Now that my brother and sister-in-law are examining a natural diet, and my husband has high cholesterol and he says I'm killing him with the food I make him, is there a slow transitional way to an alkaline diet and its benefits? Thank you. Nancy

Progressively higher percentage of raw food and lower percentage of refined carbs. Pretty simple. Not possible w/o change. Just pretend your life depends on it.
