What causes the tongue to have burning sensation? Tooth paste increases the burning ten times.

Inappropriate sensations from any part of the body are mediated through the afferent (sensory) nervous system. Lesions or metabolic disorders anywhere along the wiring, from the organ involved (in this case your tongue) to the sensory cortex of the brain can be involved. There is no way to tell you where or what that lesion or metabolic anomaly might be in your case based on scanty information. This is why doctors take thorough histories and order tests. Find a good doc. Use the Find A Doc fucntion in the upper left (yellow tab).

Thank you for the reply. So simple but I never thought of it. I do eat bananas, one every morning, I will stop for three days and see what happens.
