The use of chromium is now well established for diabetes, both treatment and prevention. Chromium picolinate and vanadyl
sulfate are now mainstays of treatment in this most common condition. In addition, chromium has been shown to lower
cholesterol, not by blocking its production as do toxic drugs such as Mevacor and Pravachol, but by increasing the
metabolism of cholesterol. Cholesterol is the body's way of protecting itself from toxins (it is a toxin binder) and is also the
necessary precursor of many vital sex and adrenal hormones. Blocking its production is the last thing a sensible
person would want to do for general health. Chromium facilitites its proper metabolism.
