Contrast Nephropathy Print E-mail

Dr. Kennedy Contrast nephropathy is a form of acute kidney toxicity leading to renal failure that begins soon after administration of contrast media (dye) for X-rays. The disorder usually runs a benign course and only rarely requires recourse to dialysis. Before having contrast x-ray studies of the kidneys, the patient must be fully informed of this risk.
