Dr. Kennedy The choroid is a thin vascular layer between the sclera and the retina of the eye. The choroid supplies blood to the retina and conducts arteries and nerves to other structures in the eye. Choroidal melanoma is a malignant growth that arises from the choroid. Choroiditis is inflammation of the choroid, either in its entirety (multifocal choroiditis) or in patches (focal choroiditis). Usually the only symptom is blurred vision.
